Match report by Chris (Glove) Milne

As ever Renegades began their pre-match build up in a proffesional manner, beginning a day of extremes of temperature in and ice cold changing room. This did not improve as the team emmerged 5 minutes before kick-off to find a baltic chill blowing in from the west straight to the bollocks. Rik, putting us through his military drills, began to increase the blood circulation and physched up for what eventually turned out to be a physical game.

With Rik's and Flora's stand and deliver speaches ringing in our ears men became Injuns and were determined not to be bullied anywhere on the park. This led to Peterborough handbags being brandished quicker than redneck to a shotgun and after a number of blows being struck without scratches appearing on Injuns broad chests, the game settled into a pattern of Lineouts in Peterborough's 22. The wind played havock with the lineout all day and Renegades could only emerge with another Darey drop goal from their sustained pressure all through the first half.

Peterborough were playing a physical fast rucking game, clearing out anyone that stood in the way of the ball, and with the wind behind them looked to dominate territory. Sam and Owain became the first serious Renegades casualties of the season with Sam putting in one too many of his customary big hits and retiring with a broken collar bone midway through the half. Owain was soon to follow after some Twat jumped on his ankled. This brought on Renegades soon to be coach for his first appearance without his budgey suit this season, but a lack of fitness and a numerical disadvantage proved to be the undoing of the 'Gades as Peterborough broke a couple of tackles towards the end of the game to run in two tries. 12 - 3 the final score.

After an extended period of dummy harvesting from what Peterborough kindly left on the park it was time to remove our kit, padding and skin in the worlds hottest showers. Must note next week to bring tea-bags as we might actually get some use out of the showers.

Gades fought well and were not bullied at all. Each player left some part of their body on the pitch and rode the punches and even (turn away Mick) gave some back. Good effort but no cigar, time to shake this habbit of 'Morale Victories' for the rest of the season.
