Match report by Graham Beckford

After a slight re-shuffle due to players being caught up in an accident on the A14 the game kicked off.

For the first time this season the atmosphere and aggression levels were very flat and against a very large Huntingdon pack this put us on the back foot. After 10 mins we settled into the game and realized if we kept the ball away from the pack then we would have the upper hand. A quick ball form a scrum gave Fabio a run to pop to Beaky at scrum half who gave a pop ball to Holdsy to crash over with Darey converting.

The second of our try's came from a lineout with Beaky running round the back and popping to Darey who broke through the line to set up quick ball for Bev to score a try.

Huntingdon then turned up the pressure up front and after a few phases of possession their fly half went through our line to score.

In the second half Bill Bob very sportingly agreed to play for them as they had a player injured and Nick and Rik came on for Matt and Richard, we also made a tactical change and put Matt Turner at scrum half with Beaky going to the wing.

The game was a bit scruffy for long periods with the Huntingdon pack resorting to a few lets say un-pleasantries but never looking like scoring due to excellent defense close in by the forwards and Ant and Holdsy having a field day in the backs.

Defense turned into attack with Ant making an excellent run from a kick setting up Darey to score which he converted.

Following turnover ball again we broke down the blind with the Glove passing to the last man Beaky to run 60000 meters to score.

The overview of the game was we will need to play better if we want to do well in the league but it was a game we won that last year we probably would have lost.

Notable performances was Ant and Holdsy in defense and the constant improvement of Rocka who's work rate and decision making improves with every game
